Hero MotoCorp, which is the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer in terms of volumes, became the first-ever Indian manufacturer to launch a dual-purpose motorcycle in the sub-200cc segment. Dubbed as the Impulse, the bike was based on the Honda NSX 150 Bros and was a thoroughbred dual-purpose motorcycle. No wonder, then, that, the motorcycle was quick to impress many off-road motorcycling enthusiasts but couldn’t really enjoy a great sales performance. Now, it seems like Hero is gearing up to launch an all-new Impulse to once again try its luck in the niche segment. This time around, the new motorcycle will sport a 250 cc heart and will debut at the EICMA 2018. Anย Auto Expo 2018ย launch in India can’t really be ruled out. Like we said, the Impulse did impress the off-road bike enthusiasts and even saw plenty of action in various motorcross races across the country. However, it couldn’t really leave a mark on the sales charts owing to lack of interest amongst mainstream bike buyers. Eventually, this motorcycle was phased out in 2013. However, thanks to the fast growing demand for dual-purpose motorcycles, Hero is now planning to re-enter this segment with a new 250 cc model that will likely be sold as the new Impulse. The original Impulse had a 150cc heart, which, pretty honestly, hardly delivered any punch. The new engine, however, will make the 2018 Hero Impulse 200 cc motorcycle a lot more fun.

The new 2018 Hero Impulse 250 cc model will share its engine with the much awaited Hero Xtreme 200S. While the Xtreme 200S will finally launch soon after the Delhi Auto Expo 2018, the Impulse 200 won’t make a market debut before next year’s festive seasons. Of course, the two upcoming Hero motorcycles will share in plenty with each other. However, the new Impulse will have bits like a long travel suspension and spoke wheels. The bike will have above 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that will output 18 BHP and 17 Nm (approx). ย The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

For the new Hero Impulse 250 cc model, the engine will have a different state of tune than the Xtreme 200S. It will have more low-end grunt. Features list is likely to include bits like LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED turn indicators, LED taillights, long-travel suspension, spoke wheels, digital speedo console, and dual-purpose tyres. Of course, the bike wll even have a light weight frame and ABS will be available as an option.
Hero Impulse 250cc Launch Date
While Hero MotoCorp hasn’t yet let out any detail regarding the official launch date, we are sure to see the bike make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Subsequently, the bike will launch during the festive season of next year. Once launched, it will rival mainly the KTM 200 Duke.
Hero Impulse 250cc Price In India
- Minimum – 1.1 lakh
- Maximum – 1.25 lakh
