Latest images reveal more details of the 2018 Hyundai Santro interior. Likely to debut at Auto Expo 2018 and launch by 2018-end
By now it has become fairly well known that the Hyundai Santro is returning in an all-new avatar. The all-new model has been spied on numerous occasions. From the looks of it, Hyundai India looks all set to shake the entry-level segment with the Eon-replacement. The latest spy images show that the 2018 Hyundai Santro interior will be fairly upmarket as it willย offer goodies like a touchscreen infotainment unit. The new Santro has been internally codenamed as the AH2 and the production of its engine has already started in India. The new Santro will be put on a show at the fast-approaching Auto Expo 2018. 2018 Hyundai Santro Launch Date

Hyundai India Motor Limited’s MD and CEO, Mr. Y. K. Koo has confirmed that the launch of their new small car, which has been internally codenamed as the AH2, will take place in the second half of 2018. While the company is yet to disclose the market name of the ‘AH2’, the employees at the company’s Tamil Nadu plant are already calling the AH2 the “new Santro”. Expect the new 2018 Hyundai Santro to launch during the festive period of 2018.

Expect the new Santro to be priced really close to the Maruti WagonR. Our guess is that the new 2018 Hyundai Santro prices could start at Rs 4.00 lakh. The top-end variant could cost around Rs 5 lakh. ย While Hyundai’s plan to bring back the Santro remain unconfirmed, bringing back the nameplate could prove to be beneficial. Currently, the Eon and i10 are nowhere close to their competitors in terms of sales. An all-new product with a strong brand recognition could be just what the doctors ordered.
2018 Hyundai Santro Specifications
The new 2018 Hyundai Santro is expected to launch withย an 800cc or a 1000cc engine. Specifications and other details are likely to be revealed at the car’s debut. According to the sources, the first batch of petrol engines to power the 2018 Santro have already been manufactured at HMIL’s Tamil Nadu facility. These engines will be used to carry out real-world testing of the prototypes of the upcoming budget hatchback. The upcoming new model Santro will become the first Hyundai car in India to offer AMT. A Diesel engine option looks highly unlikely to make it to this car.

The earlier Santro offered a good mix of fuel efficiency and performance and the 2017 Santro should be no different. As the engine will be shared with the Eon, the new Santro 2017 could offer up to 21 KMPL!

The new 2018 Santro will feature company’s Fluidic Design theme to remain in sync with other Hyundai models on sale in the country. The Hyundai Santro was the first tallboy in India. In spite of slightly oddball proportions, the Indian car market lapped up the Santro and accepted the rather unconventional design. Today, tallboys have become common in our market and hence, the Indian market shouldn’t have an issue with the 2018 Santro’s tallboy design.
