The company has launched an SUV in almost all initial segments with the XUV500 topping the charts. The upcoming 2018 Mahindra Rexton will be the most powerful and the most expensive Mahindra on sale upon launch. 2018 Mahindra Rexton Launch Date

The upcoming SUV from Mahindra is essentially a rebadged Ssangyong Mahindra launched the last generation Rexton in India back in 2012 and the sales were not at all impressive. The customers felt confused as the Rexton didn’t carry a Mahindra badge yet was being sold out of Mahindra’s dealership. Even the Korean company’s name sounded more like a tongue twister and reading it was an all-together different task. The upcoming Mahindra Rexton is an all-new model and will feature butch, commanding looks that should definitely aid the second inning of the Rexton in India. The final price of the 2018 Mahindra Rexton will be revealed sometime post the 2018 Auto Expo. According to reports, Mahindra aims to hit two birds with one shot with the upcoming SUV. With an expected price of around INR 25 lakh, the 2018 Rexton will face the heat from base variants of full-size SUVs like the Fortuner and Endeavour and the mini-SUVs like Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass.

2018 Mahindra Rexton Specifications

The upcoming 2018 Mahindra Rexton will sport a muscular look with flared wheel arches and the boxy design of the body. Premium elements like LED headlight and taillight, abundant use of Chrome will enhance the overall appeal of the upcoming SUV. On the inside, the upcoming Rexton features a revolutionary interior with abundant use of leather and soft touch plastic. The front seats will be electrically adjusted and the memory function will hold info pertaining the ORVM position as well. The jewel of the dashboard will be a massive 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The 2018 Mahindra Rexton will feature a 2.2-litre e-XDI220 LET diesel engine at its heart. The four-cylinder diesel engine is good for 187PS of power and 400Nm of torque for the manual variant while the automatic variant will feature a bump in torque by 20Nm. The engine will be offered with an option of either 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic unit. Auto-switch 4WD will be offered as standard across all variants.
