The next-generation Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2019. Its test mule sighting in India reveals new details.
The first sighting of the test mule of the next-generation Hyundai Grand i10 in India reveals some interesting details about the compact premium hatchback. Seen testing alongside Hyundai’s new sub-4-meter compact SUV, the 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 seems to retain current model’s silhouette. Since the test mule is heavily camouflaged, minute details regarding the updated version cannot be confirmed as of yet.
However, what we can see is that the Grand i10’s next-generation iteration will have a large hexagonal grille up-front. This will be flanked by large wrap-around headlamps. And sitting below these will be the boomerang-shaped housing for the fog-lamps. The headlamp units do not get projector elements, neither is there any sight of LED units in them. That said, the model seen in the images could be of mid-spec trim.

Other than this, the side profile looks almost identical to the current generation model. However, the front fender seems to have a slight hunch, indicating towards a muscular augmentation. At the back, under the camouflage, the Hyundai Grand i10 looks exactly like the current spec version. However, since this model will be a generation update, it is bound to have some radical design changes.
The interiors of the hatchback are not clearly visible in these spy images. But from what we can see, it seems that the Grand i10 is now going to come with a completely new dashboard layout. It is too early to comment on the colour scheme, but it looks like the hatchback will get an all-black tone.

Feature-wise, the current spec iteration of the Hyundai Grand i10, in itself quite features loaded. With the generation update, it can come with a bunch of additional equipment. Apart from other small upgrades, this hatchback will also feature a new version of the existing touchscreen infotainment system. It will get connectivity options such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto. As before, it will get dual-airbags along with ABS and EBD along with ISOFIX child seat mounts and reverse parking sensors as standard across the range.
The engine specification of this car is likely to remain the same as before. The petrol derivative is going to getย 1.2-litre VTVT engine. While the diesel engine is going to be a 1.2-litre U2 CRDi motor. However, these engines will be tuned to meet the new BS-VI emission regulations. As standard, this hatchback will continue to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, across both the guises. And as before, the petrol derivative will also get the option of an automatic unit.

Final piece of the puzzle is going to be the prices. With the added kit and retuned engines, we are expecting a slight increase in the prices of this car. Still, they will continue to fall in-between the bracket of INR 5 Lakh to 7.5 Lakh.
