Husqvarna Vitpilen 401

Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 has been spied testing again in Pune. Bajaj Auto has confirmed that it might launch 6 new models under the Swedish brand name.

KTM-owned Husqvarna is confirmed to debut the Indian markets. Bajaj Auto recently confirmed that the brand will enter India by the end of 2019.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 has been spotted testing in Pune, near Bajaj’s plant in Chakan. Apparently, it met with a minor accident while doing a speed test.

The video shows the Vitpilen 401 in close up, although it was under heavy camouflage. The India-spec version gets orange alloy wheels, borrowed from Duke 390. The global-spec version gets rims instead of alloy wheels.

Further more, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 gets lowered clip-on handlebars, a single seat and the steel cradle chassis from the Duke motorcycles. It also gets round headlamps, a fully digital speedometer and rear-set footpegs.

Since it is owned by KTM, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 will sport Duke 390’s 373cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine. It puts out 43 BHP and 37 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.

It will also get ride-by-wire throttle which will help in linear power delivery. The power figures will be the same as Duke, but the engine might receive some tuning.

For suspension purposes, it will come with 43mm USD forks, as seen on the test mule. At the rear, it will get an adjustable mono-shock suspension. Braking will be handled with front and rear disc with dual-ABS setup.

Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 is a modern cafe racer. Vitpilen in Swedish means White Arrow. So, this bike will only be available in white colour.

The price expectations for this bike is around Rs 3 Lakhs. It will be positioned as a premium offering to KTM Duke 390, which is priced at Rs 2.43 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).
