Ather 450 gets cheaper by Rs 5,000, as it has been approved under the FAME-II scheme. The subsidies have now increased up to Rs 27,000.
Ather Energy is the second electric mobility manufacturer after Okinawa, to be approved under the FAME-II scheme. The subsidies have now been increased up to Rs 27,000.
With this, the Ather 450 is cheaper by Rs 5,000. The 450 goes for Rs 1.23 Lakhs (on-road pricing). Earlier, it was priced at Rs 1.28 Lakhs. The base variant continues for Rs 1.18 Lakhs.
For getting approved under FAME-II scheme, any electric two-wheeler or four-wheeler needs to have 50% or more local parts, use of lithium-ion battery pack, top speed of more than 40 km/hr and a riding range of 80 kms.

Further news about the manufacturer, is that it is going to be launched in Pune in 2019. Ather energy has replied to a Twitter user asking about when will it come to Pune, to which the manufacturer has replied ‘We’ll be there this year.’
Currently, only available in Bengaluru, the EV brand will next be seen in Chennai. Besides, the demand in its current city has increased so much that the waiting is on till September 2019.
The EV infrastructure comes to play, and we know that it is not well developed in most of the cities. The manufacturer plans to launch the scooters across six major cities by this year-end.
Ather 450 gets a 5.4 kW motor, which produces around 7.4 BHP and 20.5 Nm of torque. 350 uses a smaller 4.4 kW electric motor. Both the scooters use a 2.71 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The 450 offers a riding range of 75 kms and a top speed of 80 km/hr. The base variant goes on for 60 kms. max and achieves a top speed of 70 km/hr.
With the help of a public charger, you can charge your scooters from 0-80% in just 50 minutes. A standard fast charger will take around 2 hours and 40 minutes for the same.
