2020 Skoda Octavia gets features like head-up display, voice control and completely new styling with changes under the hood.
Earlier this month we told you about the 2020 Skoda Octavia to be revealed in the global market later this year. Now further reports suggest that the luxury sedan will make its debut at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. The current gen Skoda Octavia has been on the Indian shores since 2013 and was given an update in 2017.
2020 Skoda Octavia is based on the advanced version of Volkswagen MQB Platform which makes the car larger in segments and offer more cabin space. It will be offered in sedan and estate body styles, however, the former will make its way in the Indian market.
The design structure has been borrowed from Scala hatchback and Skoda Kamiq SUV, both of which are sold internationally. Instead of split headlight design, we will see a single-unit headlight design and the front grille will now be agile and gets a sleek design. It will get wider taillights and the top-spec trims will also see Matrix LED headlamps.

On the interiors, the car is likely to get an updated dashboard design along with better quality materials to give a premium feel. It will also feature voice controls, soft-touch materials, head-up display and more.
2020 Skoda Octavia will continue to sport the petrol and diesel engine. And it may also come in 48-V mild hybrid engine setup. For the Indian market, the Czech manufacturer will bring its 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol motor. Skoda is also planning to upgrade its 2.0-litre diesel engine to comply with BS-VI emission norms.

2020 Skoda Octavia will directly rival with the likes of Hyundai Elantra and Honda Civic when launched in the Indian market. Toyota Corolla which also comes under the luxury sedan segment may be discontinued when the Octavia will launch.
