Launched in January 2019, Tata Harrier now gets a total of Seven Colour Options.

Tata Harrier will finally be introduced in the dual tone colour scheme. The dual tone effect comes on Ariel Silver and Calisto Copper colours only. Now Tata Harrier is available with a total of 7 colour options, that is Thermisto Gold, Telesto Grey, Orcus White, Ariel Silver, Calisto Copper along with two new dual tone colour choices. We expect a premium of Rs 50,000 on buyers opting for a dual-colour paint scheme.

Although, we have already seen the dual tone paint scheme on the same colours, thanks to the owners who went for an aftermarket change. Tata Harrier was launched in January this year and since then it has been eating the sales of Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass. Currently, Harrier sees a total of 1500 units of average sales every month.

Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre FCA sourced diesel engine. The oil-burner generates a total of 140 bhp with a peak torque of 350 Nm. As of now, it is only available in a 6-speed manual transmission and an automatic gearbox will be launched by the end of this year.

Tata is also gearing up for the launch of its 7-seat SUV, Buzzard, which is based on the Harrier itself. The length will be increased to accomodate the 3rd-row seats but wheelbase and width of the car are expected to remain the same. Under the hood, it will power the same 2.0-litre diesel engine but will generate more power to 170 bhp and torque figures remain the same to 350 Nm.

Recently, Harrier also saw a hike of Rs 31,000 and we can say one thing that the Harrier is getting ready up for its upcoming competition, MG Hector. The latter is set to launch on June 27 and it does packs loads of features.

It offers connectivity features, a sunroof and most importantly a choice of petrol engine which the Harrier does not offer even after five months since its launch. Although Tata Harrier is working on a 6-speed AMT gearbox, an increase in power figures from the 2.0-litre engine, availability of a sunroof, new petrol engine and more so it stands against the upcoming MG Hector.

Tata Harrier starts at a price range of Rs 13.01 lakh for the base trim and the top-end trim sets you around for Rs 16.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car competes with the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Jeep Compass, MG Hector and the upcoming Kia Seltos and it also undercuts the prices of Hyundai Creta.
