The Audi Q5 facelift mainly sports some exterior cosmetic changes. The differences are subtle but bring it more inline with the newer Audi cars. Expect some updated equipment too.
The Audi Q5 is currently in its second generation and while it was due a facelift soon, a test mule of the Q5 wrapped in camouflage livery has been spied internationally for the first time. The front and rear end of the test mule were well covered up and although the changes were subtle, we could deduce some of the details from the spy shots.
The single frame hexagonal grille on the test mule seems to have grown larger than before and seems more inline with the newer Audi cars. The headlamps are quite clear in the images and they too have been given a new treatment, again inline with newer Audis. The DRLs also have a new pattern. Looking below at the bumpers, the fog lamp housing has been slightly tweaked too.
At the rear end, the tail lamps have been refreshed with new detailing. However, the tail gate and even the bumpers seem largely similar to the present ones. If there are any other changes, they have been well camouflaged. The side profile also remains largely similar with no noticeable changes. We will have more details about the design eventually.

As for the powertrains, the Q5 uses a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine with 252PS and a 2.0L TDI diesel engine with 190PS. Internationally, the Q5 also gets a plug-in hybrid variant called the Q5 55 TFSI e quattro. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 105kW electric motor for a combined output of 367PS of power and 500Nm of torque. The same set of engines are expected to continue with the facelifts, although we could see the introduction of the plug-in hybrid variant in India as well.

The Audi Q5 facelift is expected to hit the international markets sometime around early 2021. It will be introduced in India soon thereafter. The current Audi Q5 is priced from Rs 55.29 lakh to Rs 59.98 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
