Bajaj Avenger 160 & 220 See A Price Hike – New Prices

Recently Bajaj made headlines of increasing the prices of all series of Pulsar and now the Avenger prices are also increased.

In the past few months, India’s homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj has been increasing the price range of all its models. The recent one to receive a price hike is the Bajaj Avenger.

The new price of the Bajaj Avenger is increased from Rs 998 to Rs 1,097. The bike is sold in three units – Street 160, Cruiser 220 and the range-topping Street 220. Now, the Street 160 gets costlier by Rs 998 and retails at Rs 83,251 and the 220cc retails at Rs 105,088. All prices relate to ex-showroom, Delhi.

The increase in prices is due to the production costs increase and several manufacturers do this from time to time. The bikes do not come with any cosmetic changes after the price change.

Bajaj Avenger 160 was the replacement of the 180 and it was launched in April of this year. The bike has garnered good sales over these months. It is powered by a 160.3cc oil cooled 4-valve engine which churns out 15 bhp and a peak torque of 13.5 Nm. Transmission option includes a 5-speed manual gearbox.

For suspension, it continues with telescopic forks at the front and twin-shock absorbers at the back. Braking is taken care of by a disc brake at the front with ABS and a rear drum brake.

Now, taking you through the specs of the Avenger 220 Cruise and Street then they use an air-cooled 220cc DTS-i engine which makes 19 BHP and 17.5 Nm of peak torque. The petrol motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

For braking purposes, Avenger uses disc brake at the front and drum brakes at the rear. No rear disc brake is offered on option. The suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back.

Avenger Cruise 220 also gets more features than both the other variants. It is equipped with a fully digital speedometer, a tall windshield, LED DRLs and oil-cooled engine. The digital cluster shows information such as speed, odometer, fuel bars and clock.
