The 2020 Jaguar XE facelift packs in some fresh aggressive styling, brand new interiors with the Touch Pro Duo Infotainment System but mechanically remains unchanged.

Jaguar gave a facelift to the XE sedan in February, earlier this year. Of course it would have eventually made its way to India and now Jaguar India has announced the launch date of the 2020 XE facelift in India to be on December 4, 2019. The Jaguar XE competes against the likes of the Mercedes C-Class, the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 which was also given a mild makeover in India a couple of weeks ago.

The new 2020 Jaguar XE facelift does not get an extensive visual makeover but the visual upgrades, Jaguar says gives the model a wider and lower appearance with muscular forms eluding to the car’s performance and advanced aerodynamics.ย We will say that it has been rather tastefully done and in fact, they have drawn inspiration from the F-Type and E-Pace models in Jaguar’s line-up.

So what are these subtle changes that really lift up the car? Well, the Jaguar XE facelift gets a revised grille and headlamps.ย The headlamp units are now 12mm slimmer than before and it also gets the new J-blade LED DRLs that is now standard on all Jaguar models. The bumpers too have been redesigned with larger air intakes which give the face quite an aggressive look, especially so on the R-Dynamic variant. At the rear, the bumper gets some black treatment with an underbody diffuser. The LED tail lamps are slimmer than before well and have a slightly different lighting pattern. The alloy wheels too have been redesigned and overall, the car looks much more handsome and sophisticated than before.

The car remains mechanically unchanged though.

The most significant upgrades are on the inside of the car. The 2020 Jaguar XE facelift now gets a dual touchscreen system for the centre console. You now have the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system that we have seen in other Land Rover products like the Velar and it really gives the XE a technological upper hand over its rivals. The 10.2-inch top screen is used for functions like connectivity, navigation and much more. The lower screen is for the automatic climate control system with pull-push knobs. The cabin also gets a pistol grip gear selector from the F-Type and the E-Pace. The multi-function steering wheel has come from the I-Pace with the hidden-until-lit buttons and it also gets a all-digital instrument cluster.

The biggest update are on the interiors of the 2020 Jaguar XE facelift with the new Touch Pro Duo Infotainment System.

The 2020 XE facelift remains mechanically unchnaged though. That means it will continue to be powered by the 2.0-Liter Ingenium petrol and diesel engines with power ranging betwen 247 and 296 bhp. All the engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. We expect the new Jaguar XE facelift to be priced something between Rs. 47-55 lakhs but we will have more information when Jaguar launches the updated model on December 4.
