This EV revolution is led by the giants of the space like Tesla all over the world and Tata Motors in India. Recognising this, Anand Mahindra shares that all the players in the space help them to be on their toes and ready to keep innovating to stay alive and be successful among the newcomers.

Anand Mahindra Latest Tweet

In his latest tweet, Anand Mahindra was quoted as saying, “Everyone, from the smallest to the largest automaker, is a competitor and all competitors make us work harder & smarter.” This clearly indicates how the man perceives his rivals and how he plans to learn and benefit from them. That is the reason why his upcoming electric SUVs look so promising. He will ensure that the team leaves no stone unturned in developing world-class products when they are launched starting from 2024 onwards.

However, the first all-electric product in its portfolio will be the electric version of the existing XUV300 compact SUV. It will be named the XUV400 and the launch is slated for January 2023. With that, Mahindra aims to take a big bite out of the majority market share that Tata Motors has acquired with its products like the Nexon EV, Nexon EV Max, Tigor EV and Tiago EV. Note that the XUV400 will be the direct rival to the Nexon EV.

Mahindra XUV400 Test Drive Review

While the XUV400 will be an EV based on the XUV300 which is powered by the IC engine, the EVs after that will be built on the dedicated electric platforms developed by Mahindra. One of those will be the electric version of the XUV700, while the others will be quite distinct and modern in their designs and features. These include XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09. Apart from the last, the timeline for the others is decided to be between 2024 and 2026. Do share your thoughts on this.
