2019 Bajaj Dominar Price Hike – Twice In Three Months

2019 Bajaj Dominar gets updated features like dual exhausts set up, new split instrument cluster, alloy wheels and among others.

2019 Bajaj Dominar yet again sees a second price hike in just three months since its launch in April. Launched at Rs 1,73,870 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in April this year, the bike saw its first hike at Rs 1,74,125 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The current price of 2019 Bajaj Dominar now comes at a price tag of Rs 1,80,001 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and gets a hike of Rs 5,800 compared to the earlier price. The two-wheeler has become dearer by Rs 6,100 in last three months.

The sales took a massive hit for the Dominar last year and the decision to bring an updated version for the same turned out to be fruitful. The 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 sales grew by 300% in the month of April when compared to the first three months of the year.

The new Dominar 400 packs dual exhausts with improved sound, USD forks at the front gets a metallic finish to them. Also, the seats are now comfortable and handlebars have been updated to give a better riding stance. The bike receives new alloy wheels while the LED headlamp cluster remains the same.

The bike also gets a new split instrument cluster which shows gear positions, real-time and average fuel economy. The Dominar 400 is 2 kg heavier than its predecessor mainly because of the addition of new updates.

Other updates also include a revised front fender, new upside-down fork cartridges, revised graphics and availability of new colours. The 320mm front disc brake now gets radially mounted brake pillars for better braking and the rear monoshock receives updates for spring rates which provides better shock absorption.

The 2019 Dominar engine is now more refined and provides fewer vibrations was a major issue in the previous model. The power figures are 5 PS more than the outgoing model at 39.9 PS and that too at 650 rpm higher than before. Torque figure stays the same at 35 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission that even comes with a slipper clutch.

In terms of specifications, Bajaj Dominar 400 rivals with the likes of TVS Apache 310, Honda CBR300R, KTM Duke 390, RE 650 Twins and BMW G310R. Talking about the price comparison then it goes against the RE 350 Classic, RE Thunderbird 350X and the Honda CBR250R.

In other news, Bajaj is also developing an Adventure motorcycle based on the Dominar. It draws inspiration from the KTM 390 Adventure. If launched, we expect the prices to see a mere premium of Rs 3,000.
