Bajaj Platina 100 gets an even cheaper Kick Start variant, which goes for Rs 40,500 (ex-showroom). The base variant is now more affordable by Rs 7000.
Bajaj has launched
The Bajaj Platina 100 KS is available with Combined Braking System (CBS) and the Comfortec technology, which comes on the other variant too. Other features onboard include a LED DRL headlamp and stylish graphics.
The Comfortec Technology offers 20% less jerks than the other motorcycles in its segment. It gets longer suspension at both the ends, rubber footpads, directional tires and a cushioned seat.
The engine specifications on the Bajaj Platina 100 KS remain the same as earlier. It gets a 102cc 2-valve DTSi engine with ExhausTEC technology. The engine produces 7.9 BHP at 7500 RPM and 8.34 Nm of peak torque at 5000 RPM.
The motor comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. As the name suggests, the KS variant will be available without the electric start. The top speed achievable on this motorcycle stands at 90 kmph.
Platina is one of the most fuel efficient motorcycles in India, with an estimated mileage of nearly 85 kmpl. With a fuel tank capacity of 11.5 Litres, it offers a riding range of more than 900 kms.
For suspension purpose, Bajaj Platina 100 KS uses telescopic forks at the front and spring-type suspension at the back. The travel suspension in the front is 135mm and at the back is 110mm.
Braking is handled by 130mm drum brakes at the front and 110mm drum brakes at the back. Ahead of the safety norms effective from 1st April, Bajaj has equipped the bike with CBS.
Platina 100 KS is available in two colour options – Ebony black with silver decals, and Cocktail wine red. Same colour options are also available on the Electric Start variant.
Bajaj Platina is available in 100cc and 110cc options, which competes against Hero Splendor, Splendor Plus, Honda CD110 and TVS Radeon.
