BS6 Maruti Alto 800 Price Now Cheaper Than The BS4 Alto!

Making 6 airbags standard on basic cars like Maruti Alto will make them just too expensive!

Maruti is offering a huge discount on BS6 Alto 800 which takes its price lower than the BS4 version. The price of Alto 800 starts at Rs 2.93 Lakhs.

Once the dealerships will be open, manufacturers will facilitate heavy discount offers to make best out of the losses incurred. We will get to know when will the car dealerships open up. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the sale of BS4 cars have also been affected.

In case of Maruti, it has announced the offers for this month. There’s a huge discount on the Alto 800 of Rs 45,000. With the discount, the BS6 Maruti Alto 800 is now cheaper than the BS4 version by nearly Rs 15,000. So, that means, BS6 is now cheaper than BS4 Alto.

As of now, the prices of BS6 Maruti Alto 800 commence at Rs 2.93 Lakhs up to Rs 3.71 Lakhs (ex-showroom). All the variants have received a Rs 30,000 price hike with the BS6 engine. Now, the effective price of Alto could start off at Rs 2.48 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Alto 800 gets a 796cc three-cylinder petrol engine which also gets CNG as an option. The unit produces 47 BHP and 69 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox comes as standard fitment. There’s no AMT gearbox offered with the 800 but with Alto K10.

Features onboard include rear parking sensors, SmartPlay dock infotainment with Bluetooth connectivity, driver airbag, speed alert system, seat belt reminder, central locking and Voice Assist. The top-spec VXI variant also gets passenger airbag.

Maruti has discontinued the Alto K10 in India due to declining sales and its close pricing to the S-Presso. The latter is now a winning choice because it has more features, looks more stylish and is comparatively new. Alto is now an outdated car nearing its life cycle in India.

By the next year, even Alto 800 will be replaced by a new car eventually. Maruti is reportedly developing a completely new 800cc as well as a 1.0-litre petrol car. Till now, Alto has completed nearly 2 decades in the Indian market.
