The e Vitara is the first electric vehicle from the Japanese car marque
In this post, we take a look at the review of the Suzuki e Vitara by foreign media. The first EV from Suzuki is being showcased around the world before the launch. Note that there will also be a Toyota counterpart to this EV. Suzuki is definitely late to the EV party. Most legacy car brands have already been selling EVs for a while now. Still, Suzuki has finally arrived with its first electric SUV to catch up to its peers. For now, let us see what the car expert has to say about it.
Foreign Media Reviews Suzuki e Vitara
We are able to get the details of this drive review via the Electrifying channel on YouTube. The host has the Suzuki e Vitara with her. We have already experienced the exterior of the EV for quite some time now. The SUV is rugged with tons of modern-day elements like prominent LED lighting at the front, including LED DRLs, a sturdy front fascia with a chunky bumper and fog lamps on the lower grille section. Apart from that, the side section contains 18-inch or 19-inch aero-designed alloy wheels, while the tail end bears connected LED taillamps via a light console, a roof-mounted spoiler and a sturdy bumper.
On the inside, the host mentions that this red coloured e Vitara gets a black theme. However, it can change with the exterior paint. Since this is just a prototype car, the infotainment display is not fully functional. Still, there are enough storage spaces on the inside. Also, the list of tech and convenience features is quite extensive. The major highlights include an almost rectangular 2-spoke steering wheel with controls, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, stylish AC vents, physical controls for HVAC and multimedia, an electric sunroof, a floating centre console, wireless charging, 12-colour ambient lighting, drive modes, rear USB ports, retractable rear seats, 306-litre boot space, 750 kg towing capacity and more.
Specs and Driving Impressions
Based on the new HEARTECT-e platform, the Suzuki e Vitara is available with two battery pack options – a 49 kWh or a 61 kWh. The power and torque range from 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm (2WD) to 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD) of peak power and torque, depending on the variant. The higher variants will have the AWD drivetrain based on Suzuki’s trademark ALLGRIP-e technology by distributing torque where it is needed the most. The ground clearance is a useful 180 mm. In terms of driving, the EV is decent with the kind of performance it offers. However, there is a slight body roll and tyre noise. With the drive modes and regeneration levels, the drivers can choose the best settings as per their requirements. We shall have to wait to see how well the customers embrace it in India once it is launched here.
