Maruti Fronx was unveiled at the Auto Expo this year. Now, a new comparison video shows it side by side with Grand Vitara.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx was unveiled at the Auto Expo this year alongside the Jimny 5-door. The all-new cross hatchback is expected to be launched in the market soon. It has already been spotted at dealerships. The new Maruti Suzuki model is based on the Baleno hatchback and is seen as an alternative to the Grand Vitara. Now a new comparison video has surfaced online that shows the Maruti Suzuki Fronx side by side with Grand Vitara. Let’s take a look!

As you can see in the YouTube video by ‘The Car Show’, both cars look quite similar from the front. The front grille on the two cars is almost identical. While there is a chrome outline on the grille in Grand Vitara, the Fronx only gets chrome on the nose. In both models, the muscular front end is paired with dual-function LED DRLs and headlights on the bumper. However, the headlight designs are different. While the Grand Vitara sports a single projector unit, the Fronx gets triple LED units. There are no fog lamps on either.

On the side, the company has added 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. On the other hand, the Grand Vitara gets 17-inch dual-tone units. On the back, both Grand Vitara and Fronx feature all LED tail light units, rear windshield wiper/ defogger, parking sensors, and a camera. Additionally, both cars come with a 360-degree camera, body-colored door handles, shark fin antenna, and roof rails. However, only Grand Vitara comes with a panoramic sunroof.

Both cars offer similar features on the inside as well. This includes cruise control, automatic climate control, black-brown dual-tone interiors floating infotainment screen, digital instrument cluster (strong hybrid), HUD, 360-degree camera, etc. However, the Grand Vitara gets leatherette upholstery, while the Fronx gets fabric upholstery. The Grand Vitara also comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also has a bigger boot space than the Fronx. In terms of powertrains, both vehicles offer multiple options.

The Grand Vitara is Maruti’s version of the Toyota Hyryder. It is available with two petrol engine options. The mild hybrid version is powered by a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that is paired with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission option. On the other hand, the strong hybrid version is powered by a 1.5 liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is paired with an electric motor. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx also comes in two engine options. The 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine produces 100 ps of max power and 147 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine outputs 89 Ps of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque.
