Gujarati Family Takes 75-Year-Old Car to London

In a rather impressive turn of events, a Gujarati family ended up driving their 73-year-old MG car to London. Driving cars from India to Europe is a trend that has gained massive traction in the last couple of years. In fact, we even have people who have gone on to drive their cars from India to the U.S. However, it is one thing to commit to this in a brand new vehicle and quite other to do it in a vintage car. There are just so many uncertainties attached to the vintage cars. On top of that, when an entire family of 6 is involved in such an arduous journey, it increases the stakes substantially. Let us delve deep into the details of this occurrence.

Gujarati Family Drives 73-Year-Old MG Car to London

The details of this post come from theculturegully on Instagram. It captures the visuals of the family in their red MG YT. They call it ‘Lal Pari’. The description of this post mentions that Daman Thakore and his family commenced this challenging journey in 2023 from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. They drove it to Mumbai from where they shipped it to Dubai. From Dubai, they commenced their journey across 16 countries covering over 13,500 km. It took them 2.5 months to arrive in London. The post even mentions that the total cost of this odyssey was equivalent to a Mercedes car.

This post showcases the images of the red vintage car along with the family members from various countries. It even informs that the MG car reached its birthplace of Abingdon in the UK. As one could imagine, the family created a lot of memories and experiences along the way. I must mention here that even though it is not mentioned in the post, they must’ve definitely been using another car. Firstly, it is not possible to accommodate 6 passengers in this car. Secondly, if the vehicle were to need service or any issue crops up, a second car is necessary. In any case, this would’ve been much more difficult than the viewers might think.

Our View

In this day and age, plenty of information is available regarding travelling, routes, documentation, formalities, finances and foreign policies. Hence, people can prepare their trips accordingly. That is also the reason why we are coming across so many people who are performing such activities of travelling to various parts of the world in their personal cars. However, we would like to advise our readers to take the necessary precautions about every possible issue that could happen. Such journeys require an insane level of preparation which is often not documented on social media.
