Hero Glamour 125 sales decline by 50% over the past two months

Hero Glamour 125 was once the best selling 125cc motorcycle, actually for a considerable period. However, for the past 2 months, the sales have majorly plunged down.

Hero Glamour is a brand name which has been popular for many years now. Once, it was the best selling 125cc motorcycle and Hero’s second best selling motorcycle. However, the past few months sales report deny the same.

For the month of January 2019, Hero reported a sale of 45993 units, which went down by 40%, from 75553 units, in 2017. Even in November, the sales were reported at 25377 units, as opposed to 63150 units in 2017, declining by 60%.

Currently, Honda CB Shine 125 is the best selling 125cc motorcycle. Other competitors include Bajaj Discover 125 and Yamaha Saluto RX.

Hero Glamour 125 received a huge update back in 2017. The update gave it sporty and premium looks. As a result, the update bolstered its sales for the first few months.

Glamour 125 gets a an air-cooled Fuel-injected 124.7cc engine. The motor is tuned to deliver 11.5 BHP and 11 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 4-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch.

The bike gets a 10 litre fuel tank capacity. With Hero’s claimed mileage of 60 kmpl, it should deliver a riding range of nearly 600 kms.

Features onboard include LED tail light, rear tire hugger, Integrated Braking System (IBS), Split grab rails, Fuel Injection system and front disc brake as a standard offering.

For suspension purposes, Hero Glamour 125 uses telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable shocks at the back. A 240mm Dia front disc and 130mm drum brakes handle the braking system of the bike.

The kerb weight of the Glamour is 125 kgs. The ground clearance stands at 159mm and wheelbase at 1262mm.

Hero Glamour 125 is available only in 1 variant, which goes for Rs 68,990 (ex-showroom prices). The pricing makes it near to Pulsar 150 Classic/Neon edition as well.
