Starting January 2020, Honda Cars India will start upgrading its entire model line-up from the current BS-IV engines to BS-VI complaint units.

Stringent BS-Vi emission regulations will come in-effect in India starting April 2020. With the deadline just a year away, carmakers in India are on the edge thinking and contemplating on strategies of how to manage this transition in the best possible way. Several automobile manufacturers have announced as to when they will stop manufacturing BS-IV vehicles in India and the latest one to join the bandwagon is Honda Cars India.

He, however, did not comment on as to if the upgradation will see Honda adopting altogether new engines or upgrade the existing ones in its portfolio. Our speculation is that it will go the for latter option as it is going to be more cost-effective.
