Honda Elevate Gets Costlier – Initial Price and Latest Revision

Honda Elevate has just got costlier, thereby bringing an end to the introductory prices. For the last few months, the SUV has been on sale from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The new prices, though, commence from Rs 11.58 lakh and extend up to Rs 16.48 lakh. The price hike is in line with the carmaker’s announcement in December 2023. Additionally, an extra Rs 8,000 needs to be paid for the pearl colour option. On the sales front, the Hyundai Creta-rival has found over 20,000 buyers since introduction.

Honda’s Electric Vision: Elevate EV on the Horizon

Looking ahead, the spotlight shifts to the carmaker’s first all-electric vehicle. This EV will be based on the Honda Elevate and positioned in the mid-size SUV segment. It will lock horns with the electric versions of the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Grand Vitara hybrid. The new model will help the carmaker keep up with the Indian automotive industry transitioning into the electrification era. In a recent interview, Takuya Tsumura, President of Honda Cars India, outlined the brand’s electric strategy, stating, “By 2030, we plan to launch five more models such as Elevate-based EV and other SUVs.” This strategic move aligns with Honda’s vision to compete effectively and achieve substantial market presence as electric vehicles become more prevalent.

President Tsumura’s statement sheds light on Honda’s comprehensive strategy. The introduction of the Elevate EV is part of a larger plan to launch five new models by 2030. The carmaker plans to focus on EVs and SUVs. The aim is not only to compete but to emerge victorious in the evolving electric car landscape. Leveraging the popularity of the Elevate, Honda envisions selling EVs in significant numbers. In fact, the company plans to introduce five more SUVs in the market within the next six years. This strategic move aligns with the ongoing SUV trend that has overtaken other vehicle segments.

Surely, Honda plans to position itself as a key player during the transformation of the local car industry.
