Jawa is the refreshed version of the classic old Jawa. Literally, most of the design elements like the retro front cowl, twin-pea shooters, chrome detailing, single pod instrument cluster and lots of chrome inputs are copied from the older model.
Jawa 42 is a modern version of the new Jawa. Type 42 gets Matte finish colours and some modern fits and finishes. It classifies more like a modern Classic Roadster.
Both the motorcycles use the same engine. They get a 293cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine, that is BS-6 compliant. It produces 27 BHP of max. power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs up with a 6-speed gearbox.
For braking purposes, both the bikes get a 280mm disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. They also get single-channel ABS setup as standard fitment. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers.
Jawa 42 is priced the lowest at Rs 1.55 Lakhs, followed by Jawa at Rs 1.64 Lakhs and Perak at Rs 1.89 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
