Jawa Perak India

Jawa Motorcycles has now launched the Perak in India, which is a factory-custom Bobber motorcycle. It gets a 334cc engine and is priced at Rs 1.94 Lakhs.

Unveiled in November 2018, the Jawa Perak finally makes it into the market on Jawa’s 1 year anniversary. This is the day when Jawa came back to life and the company has launched the Perak to celebrate the anniversary.

Perak is a factory-custom Bobber motorcycle, that draws similarities to the old-school American bikes. In the 1960s, Jawa actually sold the original Perak in Europe, where it gained much popularity. The new Perak is an inspiration from the original one.

Jawa Perak gets a bigger 334c liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, that produces 30 BHP and 31 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is already BS-6 compliant. So as of now, it will only be available in cities with BS-6 fuel.

Styling is one major USP of the Perak. Bobber motorcycles get a short front fender, a hanging spring-loaded single-seat, old-school bits and the most relaxed riding position. It is meant for long tours and smooth cruises on the highway rather than the sprints.

The suspension is handled by inverted telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. The suspension cannot be seen from the images but it is fitted under the seat. The braking part is handled by front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard fitment.

Features onboard include:

  1. Round Halogen Headlamp
  2. Dual-channel ABS
  3. Single Seat Optimized For Touring
  4. Single Pod Instrument Cluster
  5. BS-6 compliant Liquid-cooled engine
