Jawa Perak scheduled to be launched by late-2019


The launch timeline of Jawa Perak has been scheduled to late 2019. Perak is a Bobber motorcycle which was shown alongside Jawa and Forty-Two.

Jawa Motorcycles made a comeback in India in November 2018 with 3 new motorcycles. Jawa and Forty-Two were launched in India, whereas Perak was unveiled and its prices were revealed.

Perak is a factory-custom Bobber motorcycle. Back in the 1950s, the original Perak was retailed in the European markets. Bobber motorcycles are basically customized motorcycles with short fenders and exposed body parts.

Now, again, Jawa motorcycles has confirmed the launch of Perak on Twitter. It confirms that the Bobber will be launched by the end of 2019. The bookings are also scheduled to begin by late-2019.

Earlier, Classic Legends stated that the deliveries of Jawa Perak will commence by June 2019. The bike is priced at Rs 1.89 Lakhs, which was revealed at the launch date itself.

Perak uses a slightly bigger engine, which is BS-6 compliant. The 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine is capable of delivering 30 BHP and 31 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The feature list on board includes round halogen headlamps, a single cantilever seat, rear mirrors on the end of the handlebar, dual-ABS and completely blacked out body parts.

The Bobber is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS support. It uses inverted forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the back.

Meanwhile, the deliveries of Jawa and Forty-Two have also been delayed heavily. Right now, both the motorcycles are facing a waiting period of up to 9 months, that is still September-October.

There is a delay in the launch of dealerships as well. As scheduled, Classic Legends will open around 108 dealerships by March 2019. Currently, it has opened around 55 dealerships across India.

Currently, Jawa Perak receives no competition in its price range. However, it will continue to go against the likes of Royal Enfield bikes in a similar price range.
