There’s a 1.4L turbo-petrol engine that comes mated to a either a manual or DCT gearbox and then there’s also a 2.0L diesel engine that’s solely offered with a manual gearbox. Last year, Jeep expanded the Compass line-up with the hard-core Trailhawk variant which paired the 2.0L diesel engine with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and also got several off-road enhancements. The diesel-automatic combination later filtered down to rest of the Compass range as well.
Going ahead, Jeep has many new products lined up for India. There’s a facelift arriving for the Compass very soon and then there’s going to be the seven-seater version of the Compass. Jeep also has a sub-compact SUV lined up for India which is then going to be the brand’s most affordable offering in India.
