The Korean carmaker has been selling new-age EVs across various international markets for a while now
When social media is buzzing with alleged Kia Clavis leaks, we are here to burst the myth. Unfortunately, the videos circulating on the internet are of the Kia EV5 from abroad and not the Kia Clavis, as they claim. The Clavis will either be the facelift version of the existing Carens or a model which will be sold separately above the Carens. In any case, it will bear some minor aesthetic elements from Kia’s global design philosophy. However, it will possess its distinct identity.
Kia Clavis Leaks Are Actually EV5 Footage from Abroad
The internet is full of reels and videos claiming the spotting of the upcoming Kia Clavis. For instance, these posts from stud0p and gouravsharma00 clearly claim that the visuals capture the Kia Carens facelift 2025 in a fully uncamouflaged version. That is clearly not true. We have attached our post with the footage of what the EV5 looks like. One can clearly make the distinction that the car in the visuals is EV5 and not the new Carens facelift or Clavis. Therefore, it becomes critical to be aware of such misleading posts.
Kia Clavis
The Korean auto giant has officially released a teaser video of the Kia Clavis. Even though the graphics are smartly designed to not reveal the specifics of the exterior or interior, we get some idea of what it could look like. At the front, we witness the striking 7-shaped LED DRLs encapsulating the tri-pod LED headlamps and a sleek front fascia. Also, the lower end contains a silver skid plate, which accentuates the sporty and rugged bumper. Finally, the rear end features a roof-mounted spoiler, but the taillamp setup was neatly concealed.
Now, there aren’t all that many details pertaining to the exact features on offer. Nevertheless, the video clip showcases the ADAS functions. That will enhance the active safety prowess of the vehicle. Similarly, I don’t think there will be any changes to the powertrains and transmission options. It will continue to draw power from a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates a familiar 115 PS and 144 Nm, a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol mill which churns out an impressive 160 PS and 253 Nm or a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine which produces a healthy 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The gearbox alternatives will include manual, iMT or DCT. The launch is slated for May 8.
