Kia Clavis Teased

Kia is introducing new or updated products to gain more buyers across various segments in India

The Kia Clavis has been officially teased by the Korean car marque. It is slated for launch on May 8, 2025. Kia is known for offering feature-laden vehicles at relatively affordable price points. In fact, we term these cars as affordable luxury. These amenities set the cars apart from their peers in their respective segments. The Clavis will be one such vehicle which will be the facelift iteration of the existing Carens. Let us check out the details that were shown in the teaser.

Kia Clavis Teased

The visuals stem from the Kia India channel on YouTube. The first thing one notices is the new styling inspired by the global lineup. Hence, we witness the striking 7-shaped LED DRLs encapsulating the tri-pod LED headlamps and a sleek front fascia. In addition, the lower end looks sporty with a black layout and silver skid plate underneath the bumper. Apart from that, we will experience new alloy wheels, even though the side profile was not visible in the teaser. Similarly, the rear end features a roof-mounted spoiler, but the taillamp setup was neatly concealed.

In terms of the interior, there were no specifics at all. Still, going by the latest Kia products, we can expect a premium cabin with a generous use of high-quality materials and the availability of a slew of tech and convenience functionalities. One thing which was demonstrated in the teaser is the collision warning. This unequivocally points towards the fact that it will boast ADAS functions. That will be a huge step-up from the Carens, which is the only Kia car on sale without ADAS. Additionally, we could also see a panoramic sunroof. Clearly, it will be a tech-laden car.

Specs

I believe there won’t be any changes to the powertrain options on offer. This means a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates a familiar 115 PS and 144 Nm, a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol mill which churns out an impressive 160 PS and 253 Nm or a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine which produces a healthy 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The NA petrol will pair with a manual transmission, while the turbo petrol will get an iMT or DCT, and the diesel mill will boast a manual or torque converter automatic gearbox. Hence, buyers will have all sorts of options to choose from. More details will emerge on May 8.
