KTM Duke 125 Price, Specifications, Features and Colours

KTM Duke 125 has been launched in India at a price of Rs 1.18 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The least powerful KTM motorcycle competes with Yamaha R15 V3 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. 

Duke 125 is produced in India for a long time now and earlier, was only for export. Now, the entry-level KTM naked motorcycle has been introduced in India. The deliveries have already begun across 450 dealerships of KTM in India. It looks identical to the other Duke motorcycles, of course with a less powerful engine. It emerges as a pure performance motorcycle because of its high power figures and fitment of dual-channel ABS setup.

In India, the 125cc segment is considered as a commuter department, filled with a variety of commuter bikes. Here, the concept of performance motorcycles usually starts from above 200cc.

The bodywork and design is similar to the elder KTM siblings. 125 misses out on some performance and regular features.

If it launches, it will replace Yamaha R15 V3 as the entry-level performance motorcycle of India. We expect a price range of around Rs 1.2 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).

KTM Duke 125 Launch Date

Earlier, KTM confirmed that it would not launch the Duke 125 in India. The primary reason they stated that this segment is for commuter motorcycles. The bike has been introduced in the Indian market on 26th November.

The bike goes for Rs 1,18,663 (ex-showroom India). The prices of Duke 125 is high as compared to other bikes. Mainly because this bike goes as a performance-oriented commuter bike.

KTM Duke 125 Engine Specifications

The KTM Duke 125 is powered by a 125cc single cylinder fuel-injected engine. The engine gives out 15 HP and 14 Nm and comes paired to a 6-speed slipper clutch gearbox.

The figures are definitely better than 125cc bikes and even better than some 150cc bikes. KTM’s lightweight frame helps in higher power figures. This engine would give good acceleration features along with a decent mileage figure.

KTM Duke 125 Mileage

As per our expectations, Duke 125 would deliver a mileage figure of around 45 kmpl. In real-world conditions, the mileage would lower done a bit.

KTM Duke 125 Design

The KTM Duke 125 gets a similar body to 390. It carries the loud decals over the body, trellis frame cradle and upright position. The main differences include a ‘125’ decal below the fuel tank and the graphics. Other design highlights include split headlights and split seats.

Duke 125 offers a seat height of 835mm and a ground clearance of 185 mm. The total dry weight of the bike is around 137 kgs.

KTM Duke 125 Suspension and Braking

For suspension, it uses USD Forks in front and a mono-shock absorber in the back. It is also built on the same Steel Trellis frame chassis, which also comes on the other Duke variants. It might come with a single-channel Bosch ABS and the Bosch engine management system.

KTM Duke 125 Competition

Recently, the Pulsar 125 was launched in Poland, which we think might come to India as well. Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed that it is planning to launch more affordable Pulsar bikes in India. So, if we compare it on the basis of specs, these two would go against each other.  At this price, it competes with the likes of Yamaha R15 V3 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
