Bajaj and KTM are completely involved and hard at work for introducing the KTM brand with a bang in the market. They have already confirmed of the commencement of KTM’s foray in India with KTM Duke 125CC by the end of 2011 and the latest news concerned with the brand says that the launch of KTM Duke 200CC at the Auto Expo 2012 will be followed by a new 350CC mean machine from the same.
The 125 CC Duke is already being exported to a couple of global markets and now emerging markets like ours await the introduction of this performance machine. Both the 125 CC and 200CC motorcycles will be manufactured at Bajaj’s plant at Chakan near Pune.
At the previous 2010 Auto Expo , Stefan Pierer, CEO of KTM Sport motorcycle AG had said, “During the next Delhi Auto Expo, we will be launching first the 200-cc Duke bike in India,”
Recently he threw some more light on the 200 CC model by informing that the company is planning to sell 20,000 to 25,000 units per annum which is an achievable target provided everything goes right. The Duke 125 CC is doing great in the European market with 7,000 units already sold and now the manufacturer is aiming at the 10,000 units milestone.
The bikes look really upmarket with impressive designs and we are can’t wait for the next Auto Expo to arrive.
