The Made in India Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been launched in Indonesia. As a result, the response has been exceedingly well. The MPV with the mild hybrid powertrain has made quite an impact among Indonesian buyers. It has already received over 1,800 bookings while the expected target was 1,500 units. It seems like Maruti is going the hybrid way until the volumes allow for full EVs. That is why it has plans of launching EVs a few years down the line. While other carmakers are working incessantly on the future of mobility and bringing in new EVs, Maruti seems to be taking it slow. But its latest products in India like the upcoming Grand Vitara mid-size SUV will feature full-hybrid powertrains with fuel efficiency up to approx. 28 km/l.
