The Made in India Ertiga with the hybrid powertrain has found appreciation there. While the overall silhouette of the MPV remains the same, there are a few tweaks to the design. The Ertiga hybrid comes with a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and 12V 6Ah Lithium-Ion battery that produces 105 PS and 138 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The hybrid system allows Start/Stop function improving fuel efficiency. The battery pack has a 5 years / 1,00,000 km warranty.

It seems like Maruti is going the hybrid way until the volumes allow for full EVs. That is why it has plans of launching EVs a few years down the line.
