Mahindra Bolero gets ABS, Airbags, Rear Parking Sensors among others as new safety features. Also, it will be upgraded to a BS-VI compliance engine before April 1, 2020.

Mahindra Bolero is the latest SUV from the manufacturer to be updated with the mandatory new safety features across its range. It now gets ABS, driver side airbag, front seatbelt reminder, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system and manual override for the central locking system.

With these added new features, Mahindra Bolero Power Plus now starts at Rs 7.68 lakh for the base trim SLE, the mid-spec, SLX, starts at Rs 8.33 lakh and the top-end trim ZLX is priced at Rs 8.68 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Mahindra Bolero borrows the TUV300 steering wheel in order to equip the driver side airbag. Other features on the Bolero Power Plus is a start-stop system, fully digital instrument cluster, keyless entry and an audio system with USB and Aux-in support.

Not much has been changed on the inside or on the outside but the notable difference comes in the range of trims it is offered in. The 7-seater Bolero (LX, EX, SLX, SLE, and ZLX) that came with a 2.5-litre m2DiCR engine has been discontinued. It produced a 63 bhp with a peak torque of 195 Nm.

Mahindra Bolero Power Plus comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged mHAWK diesel engine which produces 70 bhp at 3600 rpm with a peak torque of 195 Nm at 1400 rpm. Currently, this engine is a BS-VI compliant but will soon be upgraded to BS-VI before April 1, 2020.

Mahindra will also discontinue the Xylo owing to the poor sales. It was a very popular vehicle when launched but slowly due to rising competition and the lack of features, the sales started to take a dip. Mostly cab aggregators used Xylo but for that to the demand decreased. Recently Mahindra also discontinued the DI trim of the Thar.
