Mahindra Marazzo will soon be BS-VI compliance and might come with an AMT transmission too.

Emission norms have taken quite a hit on car manufacturers as the powertrains of the car have to shift directly to BS-VI norms, skipping BS-V. Now, earlier we told you a couple of Mahindra BS-VI compliance cars were spotted testing on roads. The latest entry to the lot is the Mahindra Marazzo.

Mahindra Marazzo has been a tremendous success for the manufacturer as the MPV offers loaded features and a powerful diesel engine. The prices of the MPV will definitely go up once the new engine kicks and Mahindra is planning to launch the BS-VI engine before Maruti Ertiga.

There won’t be any cosmetic changes from Mahindra but we can expect a new AMT transmission which will suffice the needs of the buyers who want convenient driving. A petrol motor is also expected with BS-VI compliance engine. With the BS-VI engine, it won’t only become efficient but will also run smoothly and get lower NVH levels.

The interiors of the Marazzo gets a dual colour tone of grey and black and the dashboard design looks neat with a large touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets automatic climate control and a reverse camera with guidance.

Mahindra Marazzo currently comes with only diesel engine with manual transmission. Petrol motor is also expected to launch once the BS-VI norm kicks in. The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine produces 121 bhp with 300 Nm of torque. The car sits on 17-inch alloy wheels and the certified economy by ARAI is 17.2 Kmpl.

The MPV prices start at Rs 10.18 lakh and go up to Rs 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top end variant. The car competes with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Renault Lodgy.
