New Issues With Mahindra Scorpio-N Sunroof

YouTuber who alleged leakage in his Mahindra Scorpio N's sunroof now claims to be facing another problem with it.

After reporting leakage from a sunroof, the Mahindra Scorpio-N is facing new issues. Now, the sunroof wonโ€™t close.

Mahindra Scorpio N is one of the most popular SUVs in the Indian market. However, some owners have reported issues with their SUVs. Recently, a YouTuber reported leakage issues with the Scorpio N sunroof. He posted a video showing water making its way into the cabin with his SUV parked under a waterfall. Initially, the video raised concerns on the quality control exercised by the carmaker. But to prove all’s well, the company released a video of a similar Scorpio-N parked under the same waterfall with no issues faced whatsoever. However, the YouTuber has now shared another video that shows the subsequent issues caused by the water leakage.

It is to be noted that this incident took place in the remote location of Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh and the owner did not take the Scorpio-N to the service center. The sunroof was shown to be leaking after the YouTuber took it under a waterfall. Since water entered the car’s electrical units, the infotainment system also stopped working properly. However, it was fine after a few minutes. A close inspection of the video by other Youtubers later revealed that the entire video was staged. Meanwhile, the Scorpio N owner who posted the leakage issue continues to claim problem with his vehicle.

Cause of Leakage

As of now, the cause of the leakage is not confirmed. Even though some other Youtubers have analysed the video carefully and claimed it was staged to garner eyeballs, Mahindra is yet to analyze the affected car. Meanwhile, the owner of this Scorpio N suspects that the issue happened due to a faulty rubber seal. It is quite possible that this was a one-off case with this unit> However, it is not clear why the sunroof is now stuck. We will have to wait and see an official diagnosis at a Mahindra service center to know the complete story.
