Mahindra XUV 700 launch was scheduled to happen in the first week of October. However, the launch will now happen a couple of weeks after the earlier date. The fully grown SUV is expected to be priced between Rs 20-25 Lakhs.ย

Mahindra now has 2 models in the upcoming lineup. It includes the compact SUV S201 and the fully-grown SUV Y400 (XUV 700). Both the launches are happening before April 2020 for sure. The first one to launch is the Mahindra XUV 700, which was slated in the first week of October. However, the date of launch has now been scheduled 2-3 weeks ahead of the original date. Well, that is a sad news for us!

However, we know the reason for postponing the launch. So apparently, Aspire Facelift and 2018 Honda CR-V are launching in the first week of October and the new Hyundai small car is also getting unveiled during that period. So, to avoid the collision of dates, the action is taken.

However, that is also not the only reason to postpone the launch.

Currently, the Ssangyong Rexton has priced around Rs 20 lakhs. This is the price, around which the Mahindra XUV 700 can launch. So, the production of the Rexton has been stopped and dealers are clearing the stock quickly. This process is taking time, which has added in postponing the launch.

Moving on, we expect it to be priced starting at Rs 20 Lakhs and might go up to Rs 25 Lakhs. But you know what the best part is?

It is squarely aimed to take on the likes of Fortuner and Endeavour. But we believe that it will undercut the prices of Fortuner and Endeavour, to cause a dent in their demand.

It will use a 2.2-liter Turbo-diesel engine at first. We expect, later, it might get a 2.0-litreย petrol engine. The diesel engine produces around 185 BHP of power and 420 Nm of peak torque. There are chances of a petrol engine because Fortuner offers one. The diesel engine will come paired to a 6-speed manual transmission and an AMT.

Coming to the features, you can expect all those fancy ones.

LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED rear lights, Electric Seats, 9.2-inch Touchscreen Infotainment, Dual-zone Automatic climate control, and premium leather upholstery are some of the features coming with the Mahindra XUV 700.

Safety features will includeย ABS with EBD, 8 Airbags, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, Advanced Emergency Braking, and Active Roll-over Protection. For convenience, it will get electronic parking brakes and the rear parking sensors with a camera.
