The MG ZS EV will be officially unveiled in India on December 5 and bookings will commence next month itself, with the car going on sale in the first quarter of 2020.
MG Motors had already listed the ZS EV on their Indian website earlier this week and now we have finally come to know the unveil date of the ZS EV in India. The MG ZS EV, the company’s second offering in India, will be officially unveiled on the December 5, 2019. The new EV is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2020. MG has been testing the ZS EV on our roads for quite some time now and it will take on the Hyundai Kona as its direct rival.
Just yesterday, we reported about the battery specifications of the ZS EV and its identical to the UK-spec ZS EV. In the UK, the ZS EV is powered by a synchronous motor that produces 141 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque.ย The car gets a 44.5 kWh battery pack that promises a range of about 300 km on a single charge. The lithium-ion unit can be charged up to 80 per cent in 40 minutes with a 50 kW DC charger, or takes up to seven hours with a standard 7 kW charger. ย
The MG ZS EV is a pretty handsome looking car and it does not shout out its electric credentials at all. Its looks very much like a traditional car with good proportions, a bold diamond finished grille upfront, swooping bonnet and a curved roofline. Keeping up with trends, the ZS EV sports a crossover-ish profile. The charging port has also been very smartly hidden behind the grille.
