Cashless Medical Treatment for Accident Victims
The free and cashless medical treatment is part of the amended Motor Vehicle Act 2019 (MVA2019). As a matter of fact, some states have already implemented this act. Going forward, the MoRTH will join forces with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to implement this crucial policy across the nation. This would be a great help for all the accident victims in emergency situations. It is designed to ensure that no time is wasted in the treatment of the injured during car crashes. Note that the initial moments can be the difference between life and death.

MoRTH Secretary, Anurag Jain, said, “It is envisioned to provide access to cashless trauma care treatment for road accident victims at the nearest appropriate hospital, in accordance with the Supreme Court ruling, and by drawing its power from the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act 2019 (MV Amendment Act). Such cashless treatment shall be extended to road accident victims, including during golden hour, as defined by the MV Amendment Act.” This clearly indicates the intent of the government with this much-needed act.
