Volkswagen India has jointed hands with Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh to promote the Think Blue initiative of Volkswagen India. The Think Blue initiative is about Bluemotion Technologies by Volkswagen which helps to make cars more eco-friendly by adopting technologies and engineering practices which makes cars more fuel efficient and reduce the tail pipe emissions which pollute the environment. Bluemotion technologies include a lot of fuel saving systems like start-top micro hybrid system, better aerodynamic modeling of cars to reduce drag and save fuel, more efficient and light weight components which make cars more fuel efficient etc.
Volkswagen has selected Neil for promoting this initiative because he is a young and talented actor who represents Indian youth and supports environmental and eco-friendly technologies and he has a passion for automobile technologies. Volkswagen India also handed over the keys of a new Volkswagen Passat powered by many modern Bluemotion technologies to Neil at Mumbai on 27th April 2012.

On this occasion, Mr. Lutz Kothe, Head of Marketing & PR, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. quoted:
“Neil and we first met in New Delhi during one of our Think Blue. initiatives at the Auto Expo and we realized Neil is extremely forthcoming about his support towards such campaigns besides his love for the latest in automotive technologies which was a perfect fit with the Brand’s philosophy. We are really excited to have his support for our Think Blue campaign in India”
Speaking on the occasion actor Neil Nitin Mukesh said:
