At the front, we witness the new connected LED light bar, which covers the entire width of the vehicle and culminates in LED DRLs on either side. Additionally, it carries slightly tweaked styling with a new bumper, a new set of alloy wheels, a new grille, updated taillamps and the rear bumper. All in all, there are enough elements to distinguish it from the existing model. In terms of powertrains, there won’t be any changes to either the engine or gearbox. It has been attracting tons of buyers due to the tried and tested petrol mill, latest tech and convenience features and elegant styling. Currently, it is also available in a strong hybrid avatar for those who have high running costs. The hybrid setup offers significantly high mileage to offset the increasing fuel prices.
Talking specifically about the facelift iteration, the video by autonews_india on Instagram captures the new sedan without any sort of covering or camouflage. It is not common for carmakers to flaunt the facelift models publicly before the official launch. We see that the front section of the sedan contains what looks like a connected LED light bar, sleek LED headlamps, a redesigned front grille and bumper. At the rear, the LED taillamps are new, along with the new bumper. Finally, the side section contains an updated alloy wheel design. All in all, the sedan will certainly look different to the existing model. On the inside, it will most likely get some new amenities as well.

Note that the mid-size sedan space in India is quite appealing for a whole bunch of populace. In fact, despite the onslaught from the compact SUVs, this segment has continued to grow. Now, the Honda City has some worthy rivals in the Hyundai Verna, VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia. Still, each of these have their individual traits to woo new customers. For now, let us take a look at the specifics of what the City facelift would incorporate.
New 2026 Honda City Facelift Spotted Testing
The images of the 2026 Honda City facelift stem from placaverde on Instagram. As expected, the sedan is wearing a thick camouflage. Nevertheless, we are able to deduce from its silhouette that this is the updated City. At the front, we witness the sleek LED DRLs integrated around the main LED headlamp cluster. In between, there is a prominent grille section, while the bumper will be redesigned. On the sides, the familiar silhouette is visible and the new elements will include a new design for the alloy wheels. Finally, the tail section contains slim LED taillamps, a sporty bumper and a shark fin antenna, all of which remind us of the existing model, to some extent.
On the inside, there will certainly be some additions to the already long list of features. Even though the exact details elude us at the moment, we can safely assume that the new City will come with a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, Honda SENSING ADAS suite with amenities like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, 6 Airbags, Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and much more. In essence, the sedan will continue to be a feature-laden product.
Expected Specs and Price
Just like the current model, I expect the new 2026 Honda City facelift to carry the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This is good for 121 PS and 145 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. The transmission duties will be carried out by a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. This entire engine-gearbox combination has been tried and tested for many years now. Also, it will be interesting to see if the strong hybrid version will continue to be on sale. At present, the City ranges between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 16.07 lakh, ex-showroom. One can expect the facelift model to bear a slight premium over these prices. More details will surface as the launch nears.
