Renault India has expanded the Kwid range in India with the launch of new variants. The variant with 5-speed AMT (Automatic Gear Shift) technology was launched in November 2016. Renault Kwid 1.0-litre automatic price is Rs. 4.25 lakhs . It may be noted that the Renault Kwid has been pretty quick in garnering a fan-following of sorts. As we said, the Kwid has attracted the attention of many entry-level car buyers in India. With the launch of the Renault Kwid Automatic model, the manufacturer is expected to successfully attract entry-level car buyers looking for a slightly premium experience. These are the same buyers who are currently putting their money on the Alto K10 AMT and the Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre model. The Kwid’s Automatic Gear Shift (AMT) technology has been christened as Easy-R. This transmission comes mated to a 1-litre engine that is more powerful than the 799cc version. The Kwid AMT’s 1.0-litre engine boasts a DOHC head with 4-valve per cylinder technology for a strong low-end performance and high fuel mileage.

Renault Kwid Automatic Price in India

As we said, the launch of Renault Kwid AMT Automatic model took place in November 2016. The new variant has gone on sale in the coming days at a starting price of Rs 4.25 Lakhs. However, these prices are introductory. The Renault KWID AMT will be available in the top-end RXT variant with five colour options- Fiery Red, Ice Cool White, Moon Light Silver, Outback Bronze and Planet Grey. Bookings have commenced across all Renault dealerships in India. Bookings can be made either at the dealerships or through the Renault KWID App, which could be easily downloaded from the Google Playstore or Apple Store.

The Renault Kwid Automatic will be a direct rival to the Maruti Alto K10 AMT. The K10 AMT retails for a starting price of INR 4.05 Lakhs.

Renault Kwid Automatic Mileage

The Renault Kwid Automatic comes equipped with the same 1.0-litre petrol engine as the Kwid 1.0 SCe. While the manual variants return a claimed ARAI certified mileage of 23.01 KMPL, the automatic variants with the 5-speed AMT have a fuel efficiency rating of 24.04 KMPL according to ARAI tests.

Renault Kwid Automatic Specifications

The Kwid AMT is available only with the new 1.0-litre engine option. It is being said that this engine is developed under the expert guidance of Renault Formula 1 team engineers. This engine churns out a max. power of 67 bhp and a peak torque of 91 Nm. For the Kwid AMT, this engine comes mated to a five-speed Automated Manual Transmission that provides automatic gearshifts. The ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of the Kwid Automatic Gearshift model is 24.04 kmpl.

Save for the advent of the 1000cc engine and AMT, the Kwid remains largely unchanged. This means it is the same as the current model in terms of dimensions and other measurements.
