Renault may not have the Koleos, their flagship SUV, as one of the best sellers but that does not mean the company has given up on the car. Renault has just lifted the wraps off the 2014 Koleos facelift at the Buenos Aires International Motor Show in Argentina and the car gets minor tweaks here and there. The changes are purely cosmetic and the mechanicals remain similar to the pre-facelift version. The car gets very slightly revised exteriors, and we emphasize ‘very slightly’, because it’d would be hard to find any differences on first glance. A slew of features are added inside the car.
The front grille gets an overhaul and is different from the earlier one. It becomes like a V-Shape which looks distinct from the rest, but probably a bit like the 2007 Honda CR-V. The headlights and the rest of the front remains similar to the current car. The facelift also brings a new colour to the car, Ebony Brown. The car will get an all new R-Link multimedia system which will come shod with a 7 inch touch screen.
The car will get a reverse camera which will have its display integrated in the touch screen of the device. The car gets hill start assist, hill descent control and the much famed Bose Audio system, music quality should be amazing. The company offers the car overseas in 2WD and 4WD guises but the India spec Koleos just gets the 4WD.
The car gets slightly tweaked bumpers and the alloys are an all new unit as well. It gets two-tone alloy wheels which look quite good. The car will come with a choice of two engine options, 2.0-litre diesel motor which gives out 150BHP and 175BHP whereas the other 2.5 litre petrol motor will have its power output rated at 170BHP. Will Renault bring the Koleos facelift to India? Considering the fact that it is going to launch the new Micra in about a month after its global preview, expect the Koleos to hit Indian shores soon.
