More details on the Royal Enfield 750cc bike have finally come to light! The upcoming 750cc RE Continental will rival the likes of Harley Davidson Street 750. Speculations abound that the bike you see in the images we here is actually the upcoming Continental 750 cc model in its production form. While we aren’t too sure of these claims, it’s for sure that the launch of a bigger Conti GT is very much in the offing. Expect the 2017 Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 cc to have a launch price of Rs 3.5 Lakh in India.

The launch date of the upcoming 750cc Royal Enfield is likely to first happen in the UK. The bigger Conti GT will become the flagship model from the iconic Indian bike manufacturer. Even the India launch should happen in mid-2018. Given the iconic status that Royal Enfield enjoys in India, the Continental GT 750 cc should take on the highly revered bikes from Harley Davidson. If nothing else, the 750cc GT should become a worthy upgrade for current RE owners.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Launch Date in India

Launch Date (expected) Mid-2018

The RE Conti GT 750 cc should launch in Europe first. In Europe, the new Royal Enfield motorcycle could go on sale in coming months. In India, however, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 launch is likely to take place only by mid-2018. This 750 cc cafe racer could make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Price in India

Price (expected) Rs 3.5 Lakh (ex-showroom)

It’s pretty much for sure that the 750cc Continental GT will cost lesser than comparable imports. We’re expecting an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.5 Lakh. At this price point, the Continental GT 750cc model will have the highest price for any Royal Enfield motorcycle. Currently, the Harley Davidson Street 750 has a sticker price of Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Hence, it’s possible that the RE Conti GT 750 would have a great price advantage over its immediate rivals.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Specifications

Engine 750cc Liquid-Cooled
Layout Parallel Twin
Maximum Power 46 BHP*
Peak Torque 62 Nm*
Fuel Supply Carburetor
Transmission 6-Speed, Manual Transmission

Powering the upcoming Royal Enfield GT 750 cc motorcycle will be a 750cc twin-cylinder engine that will boast liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission. Max. power could be in the tune of 46 BHP and peak torque should be around 62 Nm. In comparison, the 535cc Conti GT boasts 29 BHP, 44 Nm and a 5-speed transmission.

The 2017 Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 is likely to get the same brake and suspension components as the 535cc version. This means the upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycle will have conventional telescopic forks up front and gas-charged twin rear shock-absorbers. Braking duties will be courtesy of a 300 mm disc brake at front and a 240 mm disc brake at the rear. The Conti GT 750 will have tubeless tires.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 cc Design

In terms of design, the upcoming RE will be much like the current 535cc model. This means the 2017 Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 cc model will retain the very tasty retro-style cafe recer appearance. The only visible difference is likely to arouse from a twin exhaust setup and a bigger engine. Other than this, the bike is likely to continue using the same  headlamp, same instrument console and same panels. While the fuel tank will also look the same, it will have a higher fuel carrying capacity. The Conti GT 750 cc will be built around a twin-downtube cradle frame. Even the seat, tail-piece and taillight will come from the current 535cc model.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 cc Dimensions

Length 2060 mm
Width 760 mm
Height 1070 mm
Ground Clearance 140 mm

In terms of dimensions, the upcoming Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 cc will be largely similar to the current model. While there could be a small increment in the wheelbase, which will be probably to accommodate a bigger engine, we don’t think there would be a huge change in the bike’s overall length. Also, while the 535cc Conti GT weighs 184 KGs, the upcoming 750cc model is sure to weigh considerably more.
