Maruti 800 has been a household name in our country for decades now and the iconic Sachin Tendulkar is no different.
Around a couple of years ago, ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar had expressed his wish to reunite with his first car, a 1989 Maruti 800. Now, in a new TVC by Spinny, the legendary cricketer can be seen happily posing with his Maruti 800 that has now been restored to its former glory. Spinny is a used car retail platform that provides end-to-end ownership experience along with buying and selling used cars, headquartered in Gurugram. Sachin had famously owned a blue-coloured Maruti 800 back in the day. He has a lot of memories associated with it, just like the millions who owned this special car. He recalls how special the first car is and how he wished he could experience it all over again. That is when Spinny came into the picture.

Maruti 800 of Sachin Tendulkar Restored by Spinny
The team at Spinny went to extreme lengths to find an 800 in decent condition from the 80s. After going through around 30 cars, they finally found an eligible candidate. More importantly, the vehicle was kept in great shape along with all the documents by its owner. They decided to pick it up and give it a makeover to remind Sachin of the exact vehicle that he owned so passionately all those years back. The technical team assessed the components and functionality of this Maruti 800. They thoroughly inspected the condition of the engine parts and interior elements.

Interestingly, the owner had kept the compact legendary hatchback quite well. Nevertheless, the team ensured that the damaged parts, if any, are replaced. The engine, suspension and brake components were mostly in decent condition. The switches and buttons inside the cabin were changed after decades of use and the interior was restored to its original glory. Needless to say, the nostalgia associated with his first car and the pride of driving it after decades is visible on his face. He is anyway known for being super humble and connected to his roots, whether it is in terms of his cricket or other aspects of his life in general. We could all relate to the memories we had with our first cars and what we would give up to have that car back again. That is what the great man feels too.
