We have got to know that Maruti Fronx is slated to get ADAS in the coming months. ADAS refers to the Advanced Driving Assistance System. Fronx, derived from the highly successful Baleno premium hatchback, fits neatly into the lineup just below the mid-sized Grand Vitara. While its pricing falls between that of the Baleno and Brezza, the Fronx offers a distinct overall appeal that sets it apart from its counterparts. It is a crossover SUV with a unique look that has the potential to captivate a wide audience. The ADAS features will enhance its appeal even further.

Maruti Fronx to Get ADAS

Maruti Fronx is a unique blend of styling & driving dynamics of a premium hatchback and the practicality of a crossover SUV. People looking for something slightly different from the mainstream Maruti cars are opting for the Fronx. However, the main attraction for the driving aficionados is the peppy turbo petrol engine. It allows a pretty exhilarating performance. With the addition of ADAS, it will be a more enticing proposition. People are becoming more safety conscious while making purchase decisions these days. Knowing that a car has ADAS will certainly attract an even wider range of buyers.

Specs

The Maruti Fronx offers two engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90 PS and 113 Nm and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine delivering 100 PS and 147.6 Nm of peak power and torque. You have the flexibility to select between a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT automatic transmission for this variant. There is also a CNG trim which generates a decent 76 hp and 99 Nm of peak power and torque. The prices for the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine range from Rs 7.46 lakh to Rs 9.28 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Fronx with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine retails between Rs 9.72 lakh and Rs 13.13 lakh, ex-showroom.

What We Think

ADAS encompasses handy features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and more. All these could come in handy if the roads have proper lane markings. But there are not a lot of roads in the country, apart from the main highways and expressways, where lane markings and traffic signs are there. Still, it is better to have these features in the case of an emergency. On the other hand, we must also ensure that people don’t misuse these features like we have seen with Mahindra XUV700 on so many occasions.
