Tata Harrier EV Spotted Testing

Tata Harrier EV Spotted Testing

The electric iteration of the Tata Harrier will most likely be displayed at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

The Tata Harrier EV has been spied testing on the road in a recent video. Note that Harrier and Safari are the flagship offerings from the Indian auto giant. Entering the electric mobility space, Tata Motors will launch its electric iterations as well. These will be based on the ICE models. That is something we have seen from Tata Motors in the past with most of its electric offerings. The Harrier EV will go up against the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e and XEV 7e. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.

Tata Harrier EV Spied

The specifics of this case stem from The Fat Biker on YouTube. The visuals capture the heavily camouflaged electric SUV plying on the road amidst heavy traffic. We are able to deduce from the front fascia that it will get the sleek LED strip which runs the width of the vehicle at the end of the bonnet with the main headlamp cluster located on either side of the bumper. Hence, there will be barely any difference in comparison to the ICE version. On the sides, there are flaring wheel arches and the alloy wheel design is hidden too. Finally, the tail section gives away the design similarities with the regular models. It looks like it will carry on the connected taillamp pattern, a shark fin antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler and a solid bumper from the ICE guise.

Now, Tata Motors has been tight-lipped about the specifications of the EV. Still, it is said that the electric SUV will be on offer with two battery pack options of sizes around 60 kWh and 80 kWh. With the larger battery, the range could be around 600 km. Apart from that, it will be available in 2WD and AWD configurations with terrain modes. On the inside, the cabin will boast tons of new-age amenities and tech features to pamper the occupants. More details will surface at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

My View

The electric vehicle revolution has only begun in India. This auto expo will showcase so many new models which will make them more popular among potential buyers. This includes EVs from many carmakers belonging to different market segments. Tata Motors already is the market leader in terms of electric car sales. In order to maintain its pole position, it will need new-age electric cars. Until now, we have seen most Tata EVs being converted from their ICE counterparts. Tata Curvv EV is one exception. Let us keep an eye out for more details in the coming days.
