Tata Harrier spotted with a sunroof. It will likely come on the BS6 compliant engine which produces more power and an automatic gearbox will be seen onboard too.
The growing segment of mid-size SUVs have put the manufacturers introducing new products and we have already seen Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and the newly launched MG Hector and upcoming Kia Seltos.
With the growing competition, Tata Harrier which made its mark in January 2019, was an instant bestseller and have been beating the sales of Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass by a good margin. Tata Harrier sports a new design and premium features, however, the option of Sunroof was always a disadvantage among its rivals.
The test mule of Tata Harrier spotted looks like the production-spec and gets an electric sunroof and had stickers confirming it gets a BS6 compliant engine and transmission include an automatic gearbox.

Tata Motors is testing the 2.0-litre BS6 engine which will come in the Harrier lineup. The manufacturer will introduce a 7-seat Harrier (called Buzzard in the International market) by the year-end.
Also, the 2.0-litre FCA sourced turbocharged diesel engine will see an increase in power output by upto 30 bhp. The on-going Harrier produces a total of 140 bhp with 320 Nm of torque and is mated to 6-speed manual transmission.
This BS6 compliant engine produces 170 bhp of power which is quite an increase from the on-going spec. And it will continue to get the variable geometry turbocharger. Transmission options include a 6-speed torque converter unit from Hyundai and the standard 6-speed manual transmission.
Tata Harrier is equipped with features like a large 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, auto headlamps, push-button start, rear AC vents, nine-speaker JBL music system and among others.

The safety features onboard include ABS with EBD, Child Seat Anchor Points, Reverse Parking Sensors, Seat Belt Reminders and Six Airbags. Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control and Hill Descent control too come in the safety features of the Harrier.
Tata Harrier prices start at Rs 13.01 lakh for the base trim XE and the top end trim XZ Dual Tone is priced at Rs 16.87 lakh. The SUV is available in a total of seven colour options – Five monotone and Two dual-tone colour options.
