Every year when the Indian Budget comes in, it brings a few problems along with plenty of relaxations and this year all those middle class families wishing to buy the 1 Lakh rupee car Nano might have to shed more money from their pockets. The reason behind this hike is the 25% increase in steel prices as high, 2% excise duty on cars, 2% price hike on tyres, along with increasing labor costs.
The reluctance shown by Tata was appreciable but the hike in mentioned factors forced the company to announce the new price tag that the car would come with. According to Tata the first 100,000 lucky owners will have to pay the old price of INR 100,000 while rest of the Tana Nano bookings in second round will be made with an additional price of INR 30,000 applicable for all the three models namely LX,CX and the BASE one.
But taking into account the global footprint it has left in the small car sector the fact of a new platform being developed can be acknowledged since this product by Tata is solely dedicated for buyers who are incapable of buying those high end luxury sedans yet desire to own a car.
