Mishaps involving new cars losing control soon after delivery have become alarmingly common. The latest mishap involves a newly delivered Tata Punch. It serves as a stark reminder of the danger inexperienced and under-trained car drivers pose to other road users. The entire episode was caught on CCTV and shows how the micro-SUV went out of control in the hands of a new driver.

Tata Punch Causes Mayhem Immediately After Delivery
The video footage reveals a crowded city junction with the brand new Tata Punch attempting to make a turn. An autorickshaw is stationary at the junction to drop off passengers. As the Punch executes the turn, another autorickshaw attempts a right turn and positions itself beside the Punch. Unfortunately, it appears that the Punch driver failed to spot the autorickshaw during the turn, resulting in a collision. The Tata Punch hit the rickshaw. This left the inexperienced driver confused and shocked. In the heat of the moment, the driver accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, leading to further chaos.
Rather than coming to a halt, the Punch continued moving. The autorickshaw toppled over as the Tata Punch climbed onto it. Next, the micro-SUV even hit a scooter, which suffered major damage due to the collision. Thankfully, all passengers in both the Tata Punch and the autorickshaw are completely safe. While no injuries were reported, the brand new Tata Punch sustained significant damage. Even the autorickshaw and the scooter will need major repair work.

Such Mishaps Not Uncommon
Such post-delivery accidents, like the one involving the Tata Punch, have become distressingly common. In another such recent case, a Tata Tiago AMT fell from the first floor of a showroom while a customer was familiarizing himself with the vehicle. In another incident, a Kia Carnival crashed into a wall during delivery as the customer maneuvered the car down the showroom ramp. Yet another such accident which went viral had a brand-new Volkswagen Polo causing havoc in the parking lot immediately after delivery.
