2022 Tata Harrier Facelift – 5 EXPECTED Updates

Tata Harrier was an instant success since its launch but the competitors like the Mahindra XUV700 have grabbed a large chunk of market share thereafter.

The new updates on the upcoming 2022 Tata Harrier could be the only way to get back the market share that has been eaten up by the likes of Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector. The 7-seat version of the Harrier is the Safari which has received quite a few new features in its special edition models. But the Harrier still lacks a lot of modern convenience features which are becoming common in the SUVs in this segment. Tata Motors aims to fix that with the upcoming facelifted model that might launch by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.

Top Changes on Upcoming 2022 Tata Harrier

Here are the most prominent changes that the Harrier will most probably get.

  • Petrol Engine: Many people complain that the Harrier doesn’t have the option of a petrol engine like the rivals. This results in the prices being quite high. But with the new Harrier, we might finally see a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which will ensure that the prices of the SUV are reduced making it more accessible for the public.

  • New Floating Infotainment System: A rather basic low-resolution infotainment system on the current-gen Harrier is arguably the biggest pain point for a whole bunch of owners. However, that is about to change with the new 8.8-inch sleek floating infotainment display that will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and sharper graphics.
  • Digital Instrument Cluster: In addition to the larger infotainment display, the new Harrier will most likely feature a full-digital driver’s instrument display as compared to the part-digital unit that comes with the current-gen model. That will be a valuable addition to modernise the cabin.
  • ADAS Functions & Electronic Parking Brake: It is also rumoured that the upcoming Harrier facelift might finally come equipped with ADAS functions for enhanced active safety. This could include things like Electronic Parking Brake, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Sport Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and much more.

  • 360-Degree Camera: Being a bulky and large SUV, a 360-degree view camera is a must. It ensures that the driver is aware of the surroundings, especially during tight parking spots and heavy traffic.
  • Ventilated Front Seats: Harrier’s bigger cousin, the Safari already gets this function which makes it possible that the upcoming Harrier will also get the ventilated seats. They are a huge positive in the harsh summer heat in India. We have attached a few spy images of the facelifted Safari here which will share the features with the Harrier.
