TVS is considering bring a range of hybrid scooters as well as motorcycles. The first one from the stable might be the TVS Zepellin cruiser, showcased earlier at the Auto Expo.

With growing technologies, Automobile makers are slowly drifting towards the idea of hybrid and electric vehicles. Many of them have already started working towards the concept.

In the two-wheeler segment, Hero is the leader in electric two-wheelers. With that, certain new companies like Ather, Okinawa, 22 Motors and more have come up with their E-scooters.

As per Bikewale, the brand is heavily investing in the idea of hybrid two-wheelers. It plans to introduce some two-wheelers which have petrol engines mated to inbuilt electric motors. So, technically they would classify as pure hybrids.

The showcased Zeppelin cruiser came with a 220cc engine mated with an integrated starter generator (ISG). It came with a 1200W regenerative assist motor that goes with a 48V lithium-ion battery. This whole package was meant for better performance and fuel efficiency.

For scooters, TVS might develop electric as well as hybrid technologies. It is said that, scooters above 110cc will come with hybrid technologies. More powerful engines with electric motors will help in a better fuel efficiency.

At the Auto Expo, it also showcased the TVS Creon scooter. The scooter was equipped with a 12kW engine that offered a range of 80 kms. It sprinted from 0-60 km/hr in just 5.1 seconds.

Creon was put as a performance electric scooter with sporty styling elements and diamond-cut alloy wheels. It came with a colour TFT screen which displayed a plethora of information. A similar bluetooth-connected speedometer is seen on Ntorq 125.

We believe that Zeppelin cruiser and Creon scooter might be the first ones to enter the production. Following which, based on the customer response, the brand might plan to develop more hybrid or electric vehicles.
