From the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, to the Kia Seltos and also the all-new BMW 3 series, we have as many as four upcoming car launches this week.
We have as many as four new car launches this week, and that too back to back. This has been the most active week in the auto industry in a long time, with all these cars having been previewed in the earlier months. So we thought of compiling you a list of all the upcoming car launches this week and what you could be expecting from each of them. And trust us, each of these cars has something interesting up their sleeve.
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be launched tomorrow, on August 20. It is essentially based on the Grand i10 and will be existing along side the Grand i10 in Hyundai’s lineup but it gets a whol;e lot of changes than the car its based on. It gets new styling which is more inline with Hyundai’s latest design language and completely new interiors with much more features in offer. It is also bigger than the Grand i10 which means it will have more space on the inside. It will carry over the same engines from the Grand i10 though.
Maruti Suzuki XL6
Up next on the list is the Maruti Suzuki XL6 that is scheduled to be launched on August 21. Well, the XL6 may not be a completely new car but it is almost so. The Maruti XL6 is based on the Ertiga MPV but gets a completely new face with different styling. Think of it as a more rugged version of the Ertiga with body claddings all around, new wheels and more premium styling. The biggest highlight of the XL6 would be the two captain seats in the second row of the car. Maruti wants to position this as a premium car and would be selling it through the Nexa showrooms.
Well, that’s not all for August 21, as BMW would be launching the all-new 3-series in India on August 21 as well. This is the seventh-generation of the 3-series and it would be sitting on the CLAR platform. Its bigger than the previous-gen 3-series with a longer wheelbase but its also lighter. The new BMW 3-series would be powered by 2.0L, petrol and diesel engines in 330i and 320d guise respectively. The engines would be mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with power being sent to the rear wheels as standard. Also, the 3-series looks much better inside and out than before.
This has to be the most anticipated upcoming car launches this week. The Seltos is Kia’s first product in India and it sits in a very competitive segment of mid-sized SUVs. It has already caught everyone’s eye on first impressions and it seems it will really take away the market. It looks stunningly handsome and comes with numerous segment first features and very premium cabin. It also gets three engine options and four transmission options making it configurable in numerous ways. That’s also a huge advantage for the Seltos. If Kia gets the pricing right for this car, it will be an absolute hit.
Well that’s about the upcoming car launches this week. However, that’s not all for this month as Renault will be launching the Triber next week as well.
